Cheaha State Park

Cheaha State Park is the oldest park in Alabama - operating since 1933. It is also home to the highest peak in the state on the aptly named Cheaha Mountain.

This park offers a little of everything, from a hotel and restaurant to secluded primitive camping. For those looking for the best tent camping experience in the park, we recommend the primitive campgrounds which are located in a secluded part of the lake. There are also two other improved campsites that provide water and bathrooms that we have listed below.

One of the best parts of the park is the extensive hiking trails throughout the area. You can hike to several waterfalls, scenic overlooks, steep climbs and more.
