Oak Mountain State Park

Oak Mountain State Park is argueably the best park in the entire state of Alabama. Oak Mountain State Park is the largest park in the state, coming in at 9,940 acres. The park is full of pines, hardwoods, lakes and streams.

Not only does the park have incredible scenery, but also amazing tent camping. There are a few awesome seculded backpacking sites that campers must hike to.

Not only is there great tent camping in Oak Mountain State Park, but also plenty of activities. The best part is the over 50 miles of trails around the park with excellent scenery. There is also a neat tree top nature trail, a raised walkway through the woods. For those that like the water, there is boating (non gas powered boats), beaches, fishing and swimming.
